Company Description

The automotive High Performance Computing (HPC) team is seeking a senior application engineer to drive collaboration activities with ecosystem partners and contributing enablement of partner engagements to provide solutions and technical services as a key part of Renesas automotive SOC business. In connections with customers and key partners in automotive industry, the position is an excellent opportunity to drive extensively global Renesas SOC promotion and customer project enforcements. The activities include extensive collaboration with various global teams including SOC design, software development and product marketing to establish undisputed leadership in the automotive market with Renesas’ SoC solutions in the fast-growing world of automotive cockpit, ADAS/AD, and Software-Defined-Vehicle (SDV). This high-impact role will enable a successful candidate to deliver value by accelerating the deployment of a variety of partners’ specialties and expertise on top of Renesas SOCs fulfilling many aspects of customer needs and contribute to transforming the future of mobility.

Job Description

The person in this role will have a key role of supporting, encouraging and ensuring Renesas’ ecosystem partners to be ready to provide a wide range of mutual solutions using our fast growing line of SOC for automotive applications with coverage in extensive numbers and regions of business opportunities including mid/low-touch or new customers. An ideal candidate would have a clear understanding of overall embedded automotive systems as well as fundamental elements consisting automotive SOC solutions required to proceed promotion, business acquisition and development, including but not limited to hardware, software, tools, documentation, technical support, and partner ecosystem, as well as knowledge and experience for legal aspects applicable to e.g. software licensing, and trade compliance aspects. He/she would also have a wide range of knowledge required in business communication and interest in the market trends as well as capability to understand various strength and business model of individual partners to help fluent and constructive collaboration. The role is expected to turbo charge the growth in automotive arenas such as (but not limited to) the zonal, ADAS/AD, infotainment and automotive compute sectors.

The successful candidate must have strong self-motivation and sense of initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a truly global environment across various functional organizations such as Application Engineering, Hardware and Software Development, Product Marketing, and Sales. He/she must contribute actively to the transformational changes that bring the best out of a multicultural workforce.

Manage partner ecosystem for Renesas automotive SOCs in the form of partner consortium as a platform to ensure and promote the partnership as a key part of automotive business enforcement. Pursue mutual success and lead planning and execution of the consortium activities so that the member partners can contribute to customer business effectively and extensively, including but not limited to provide access to Renesas SOC equipment and technical support to drive building mutual solutions and support capability, global promotion and opportunity generation utilizing Renesas website, and so forth.
Collaborate with various Renesas internal teams including Application Engineering, Hardware and Software Development, Product Marketing, and Sales to proceed the partner engagements aligned to Renesas’ roadmaps and global operations for promotion, development and support.
Collaborate with Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, and Sales to support new partnership bring-up as well as promotional encouragement by means of the partner consortium activities.
Promote partner consortium line-up and technical, business-wise, and regional availability to Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, and Sales to leverage partner involvement to help customer business acquisition and enforcement by fulfilling various customer demands with partner solutions and expert services.
Lead global partner ecosystem team to ensure alignment of partner collaboration activities as well as supporting local or specific partner collaboration.
Facilitate engagements with core partners covering Japan and Asia regions by acting as a primary contact and coordinating with Renesas internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

10+ years industry experience in embedded SOC business.
Knowledge and familiarity in business communication topics such as business models as well as understandings for confidentiality, trade compliance, etc.
Interest in market trends and demands to help understand benefits from partner solutions.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of modern digital ways of promoting and supporting products and solutions.
Software licensing basics in legal aspects such as liabilities, intellectual property handling and confidentiality, including those for open source licenses.
Has a hands-on mentality to drive different topics pro-actively.
Strong analytical skills and have a winning mentality.
Strives for continual improvement in all aspects of work including policies and methodology.
Strong leadership skills with an ability to foster a commercial, collaborative and learning environment.
