(Herman Miller Assoc. Marketing Manager – Global Wholesale & Retail APMEA, Knoll)

We’re looking for a highly collaborative, hands-on individual to join the MillerKnoll Retail team that will be responsible for helping to grow the wholesale business globally. This role will partner with global counterparts to develop marketing strategies to drive traffic, awareness, acquisition, retention and ultimately sales.

You’ll primarily support a network of existing and future MillerKnoll wholesale partners across the Herman Miller and Knoll brands with focus on Asia-based retailers including support of partners spanning the globe including Japan, China, Hong Kong. This position will report to the local Japan Marketing Manager and also support marketing activities for the broader retail business. (80% Wholesale, 20% Japan Retail focus.)

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support retail Marketing Manager in execution of Seasonal Campaigns & Promotions, Digital Marketing, Calendar Management, Events, Partnerships & Brand Ambassadors, Product Launches and ensure connectivity with Wholesale Marketing efforts.
  • Marketing Communication & Leadership: provides proactive and timely communication and marketing direction, alignment and support to wholesale partners globally, in collaboration with local Wholesale Business Manager. This includes Herman Miller & Knoll Brands (APMEA - Japan, China, HK, SE Asia).
  • Campaigns: collaborates with North American and Global marketing counterparts to translate creative, strategic, and brand appropriate omni-channel marketing campaigns to meet the needs of global WS partners while ensuring brand consistency globally and driving impact regionally.
    • Works with marketing managers and cross-functional partners to deliver campaign asset packages including areas of digital, creative, social media, merchandising, PR that allow partners to implement and execute campaigns across all channels.
    • Collaborates in the seasonal planning process to ensure regional wholesale needs are met. Provides briefs and timelines for marketing initiatives and assets to execute regional WS campaigns.
  • Promotions: Ensure accurate and timely communication, planning and access to information and assets to coordinate to facilitate approvals and execution of local WS promotional activity that aligns with brand plans and standards – ultimately driving revenue, traffic, awareness, and inventory liquidation as needed.
  • Reporting: establishes and tracks regional KPI’s. Reports monthly and quarterly. Develops case-studies and recaps of programming, events, marketing campaigns and impact to WS partner businesses. Leverage to showcase key wholesale partners to help extend our brand message
  • Calendar: maintains and updates global integrated marketing calendar to ensure transparency to global WS marketing teams, leadership and partners.
  • Events: assists in execution and measurement of regional marketing initiatives such as events to drive qualified traffic to Wholesale retailers’ stores and online sites.
  • Social: partners and works collaboratively with internal brand and social media teams globally to help facilitate sharing, planning and alignment to support regional markets and global WS community.
  • Partnerships & Brand Ambassadors: Collaborate with brand and retail marketing teams to identify and leverage partnership, designer and product events and opportunities within our wholesale channels. Provide creative recommendations, suggestions and thoughtful analysis that always prioritizes expanding brand awareness.
  • Advertising: (as applicable) identifies and evaluates offline paid co-op media opportunities to drive traffic, awareness, acquisition, retention and ultimately sales.
  • Product Launches: supports all product launches and assortment expansion with appropriate marketing support for our wholesale partners.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-8 years of marketing experience, preferably in multiple channels at a retail, entrepreneurial or digitally-native business, and where D2C physical and ecommerce and Wholesale physical and eComm coexist.
  • Strong digital marketing skills and experience managing performance marketing
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of office software and comfort with learning new applications.
  • A drive to constantly improve processes and find new, better ways to work efficiently.
  • Willingness and excitement to be flexible and helpful across multiple parts of the business.
  • Motivated self-starter with high energy level, a passion for design and a willingness to do what it takes to create great work.
  • Works well in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Extremely organized and efficient, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects at once, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Both (Japanese) Chinese and English languages and experience in multinational corporation, with operations in(Japan) China essential
