About the Role
The Position
The Asia Pacific Corporate Access Originator, based in Hong Kong or Tokyo, will be part of a team responsible for originating and executing corporate access events across APAC (with a focus on Japan) i.e. initiation of events which will help investment research or enhance Wellington brand among listed companies, coordination and management of access to corporates, experts and government entities. This will include site visits, conference calls, roadshows, investment conferences and bespoke field trips. This is a role that requires knowledge of the market and investment process, proved ability to build and own corporate relationship, ability to generate content for corporate access events based on investment professional’s needs. You will engage with investors, proactively suggest agendas, itineraries and respond to company queries and questions where applicable.
Responsibilities
Develop internal relationships with investors to understand their investment philosophy and process in order to originate events
Engage with the Investor Relations community in partnership with corporate access team to strengthen Wellington’s corporate partnerships and brand
Assist to centralize and coordinate all corporate access activity across APAC, with a focus on Japan
Engage with all investment professionals globally to gain understanding of their requirements in APAC
Work closely with global counterparts in other geographical locations to provide corporate access updates and opportunities
Work closely with sell-side counterparts, brokers and third-party vendors to manage corporate access activity
Problem solve and liaise with our research providers to create the best possible conference schedules for our investment professionals
Help develop and utilize technology to enhance management of the corporate access process
Update and analyze current processes and procedures and actively suggest improvements and assist with training
Qualifications
6+ years of relevant experience within financial services in particular corporate access and investor relations across the APAC region (relevant experience in Japan market will be preferred)
A strong team player with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
A passion for corporate access and its importance in the investment process
Ability to build and maintain strong relationship with companies and capable of initiating and delivering events base on market trend and knowledge
A service attitude and mindset
A self-starter who can think strategically and has a desire to learn
Ability to develop relationships with investment professionals to gain an understanding and empathy with their needs as an investor
Exceptional written and verbal communication
Highly motivated and proactive individual who is capable of working on their own initiative
High attention to details and consistency to follow through; accuracy with all work is essential
Ability to prioritize and multi-task as needed
Diplomacy, yet strength to defend the right decision in a very visible situation and the ability to cope in a very fast-paced, pressurized environment
Fluent English, Japanese language skills would be beneficial
Strong Excel and database skills are an advantage
