Job Description

  • Support the Japan operations team to deliver agreed targets for revenue, utilisation, recoverability, EBITDA margin, and cash collection
  • Accountable for corresponding revenue and costs; where called for, participating in the formulation and implementation of work processes to improve financial performance and client delivery
  • Motivate all members of the Japan team and ensure they are fully aware of the clients’ and jurisdictions and group strategic objectives, have in place their own and team objectives aligned to ensure successful achievement and delivery of goals
  • Lead the development of the strategy for the relevant segments, identifying major business opportunities within the context of the agreed segment strategy
  • Develop the positioning and visibility of IQEQ in the local market
  • Align client service delivery in jurisdiction to the group standards and ensure that clients' requirements are met or exceeded, satisfaction levels are monitored and any lessons learnt are implemented in future service design and delivery
  • Contribute to plans and lead the integration of new acquisitions into the business unit, ensuring a consistent standard of operational process, risk, compliance and cost management are embedded
  • Support and maintain a culture, which supports the IQ-EQ Values and ensures engagement of all team members to deliver excellent client service, organic growth, operational effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Coach and develop the direct reports and create a coaching culture in their organisation
  • Responsible for developing a pipeline for potential merger & Acquisition targets in Japan
  • Be the single point of contact for local regulator and relevant authorities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures, agreed operational, and control processes
  • Lead, manage and embed the Group Risk Framework and culture within the business unit, discharging detailed responsibilities for unit boards as set out in the Group Risk Management Policy.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Law, Business Management or a related field, from a reputable tertiary education institute
  • At least 15 years’ proven achievements in the Japan Investor Services or similar sector, a portion of which at senior leadership level
  • Proven commercial experience and processes an extensive network in Japan’s Investor Services sector, including seeking and involvement in M&A activities
  • Understanding of business process management and optimisation, as well as the principle of continuous improvement
  • Experience of leading a team of diverse specialists
  • Business fluency in English and Japanese is a must-have
