Job Description

Must have Skills:

  • Japanese: Business or native proficiency.
  • English: Fluent communication.
  • Jira: Agile task tracking expertise.
  • Confluence: Documentation management skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project Initiation, Planning, Execution & Closing: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope definition, work breakdown structures, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure project success.
  • Manage project resources effectively, including budget allocation and team assignments.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to all stakeholders, including executive leadership, global and regional teams, business units, and external vendors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through regular communication and collaboration.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Scrum Master Duties:

  • Facilitate daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments to the team's progress and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Coach the team on Agile principles and practices.
  • Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Motivate and guide the project team to achieve project goals.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Required Experience, Knowledge, Personality
  • At least 3 years of Development Experience for Engineers or 5 years in Technical Project Management Experience managing complex eCommerce platform migrations or similar large-scale projects Involvement (including Management, Designing & Testing) in complex eCommerce platform migrations or similar large-scale projects is a major plus.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in both English and Japanese (business level fluency required for both).
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
