We are currently seeking a Desktop Support -End user support to join our team in Moriyama, Shiga (JP-25), Japan (JP).

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and maintenance of desktops, laptops, phones, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices. Windows and Apple platforms.
  • Escalate and work with third level support/ third party vendor on resolution of problem when necessary
  • Maintain Data Center environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Support for a wide range of IT equipment, software and conference room systems. (VIP Meetings) -Video conferencing, and other issues that are related to their business.
  • Support remotely if necessary (Bomgar) –including non-local venues as required
  • Maintain hardware inventory at assigned locations
  • Provision new users with hardware, software and account setup
  • Provide both remote and onsite support for multiple locations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems
  • Respond quickly to malware alerts and location outages
  • Assist with network connectivity issues
  • Provide great communication and customer service to company employees, in person and through phone calls and emails
  • Work on assigned tasks and projects, including hardware and software rollouts
  • Work with hardware/software vendors when required
  • Give training when needed to help facilitate users requests and in the implementation of company projects
  • Provides VPN support including end-user setup and problem
  • Work closely with other support teams(client support team, application support team, server support team)
  • Develop and document IT operational processes

Requirement:

  • IT related Associate Degree or Equivalent required
  • IT related Bachelor Degree preferred
  • ITIL knowledge and certification preferred
  • 5 years or above of related experience
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Desktop and Server
    • Active Directory, DNS, and GPO’s
    • Mac OS
    • Network and Information Security best practices
    • Systems development and documentation standards
    • Local and wide area networks(LAN/WAN), Internet, VoIP and data communication
    • Software packages, software utilities, patches, firmware updates and computer BIOS
    • proper records maintenance
    • Root cause analysis and providing viable solutions
    • VIP Support.
    • Audio Visual and Video Conferencing devices
  • Positive attitude/ Coachable / Diligent / Hard-working
  • Communicate effectively in English -orally and in writing , N1 Japanese for non-native candidates
