Job Details
Position Summary:
This position is to ensure everything runs smoothly by coordinating with customers and relevant teams by providing precise logistics (planning and coordinating with drivers about shipment) for drivers to follow along on their routes and coordinating pick-up and delivery times. He or she will work as a point of contact for drivers and have all the information needed to make pick-ups and deliveries.
Responsibilities:
Allocate and dispatch drivers/vendors to complete pickups, deliveries, tendering, and recovering shipments in an efficient and systematic manner
Provide drivers/vendors with detailed information for shipment pickups and deliveries
Monitor the route and status of drivers to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
Being in touch with the customers about delivery details such as pickup or delivery times, and handling special requests if required
Keeping track of dispatched orders, delivery routes of drivers, route adjustments, and pickup/delivery timelines
Ensure that drivers comply with transportation regulations and laws
Keep record of drivers’ logs such as dispatched orders and arrival times
Constantly monitor dispatch emails and ensure that all the emails are properly responded in a timely manner
Ensure to update the transport system with accurate information in a timely manner
Conduct any other duties as directed by Dispatch Supervisor or Operations manager and/or other managers
Education:
Minimum high school graduate
Skills and Knowledge:
Preferred: Experience in the logistics field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Sound level of numeracy and demonstrated attention to detail
Strong time management and organizational skills
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands
A calm and customer-focused approach
Ability to use initiative
English skills (reading, writing and speaking)
