Department Overview

Since its establishment in 1997, Rakuten Ichiba has grown to become one of the largest EC sites in Japan, with more than 57,000 stores (as of March 2024) and a large number of users.

EC Consulting Department proposes new store openings, consults on sales strategies, and proposes plans for marketing strategies for each product on Rakuten Ichiba.

In addition to the diversification of lifestyles, more and more people are shopping online due to recent environmental changes. We are seeking to strengthen our staffing structure to provide stronger support for our stores, and to seek new ideas that are not bound by conventional ways of doing things.

Position Details

As a partner of stores that have already opened stores in Rakuten Ichiba, we provide consulting sales to maximize sales.

Specifically, we will

- Share and set sales targets with stores

- Market analysis

- Propose solutions to achieve the sales target, such as attracting customers by placing advertisements and campaigns during the sales season, according to the store's products and situation

- Analysis of figures such as the number of people accessing the store's page and the amount spent per customer

- Support for the development of original products and private brands

- Asset proposals for services offered by Group companies etc.

We also provide support for the development of original products and private brands.

Our clients are mainly corporate representatives, decision-makers, and store operation managers.

Each person will be in charge of about 100 stores. The area of responsibility is divided by product category, but depending on the area of responsibility, you may be responsible for a wide range of categories.

The sales style is a 7:3 ratio of office work and face-to-face meetings. Daily communication with stores is handled via e-mail, telephone, and online meetings, but there are times when we meet in person to propose mid- to long-term sales measures and discuss budgets.

In addition, our call center staff will handle technical questions from the stores.

Work Environment

There are five sections classified by product genre and area.

We are mainly young people in their 20s and 30s, and communication is flat.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- At least 2 years of working experience
- Sales experience (both corporate and individual) or sales management experience in the distribution/retail industry.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in proposal/solution/consulting type sales (no experience in the internet industry required)
- Experience in merchandising and sales management in the distribution or retail industry, sales floor manager, supervisor (convenience store, department stores, etc.)
