The Field Application Specialist, Automation is responsible for assessing potential application of the automation products to meet customer needs pre and/or post sales.
This position reports to Kenji Soeda Automation Field Application Manager and is part of the Automation Field Application team located in Tokyo and will be working remotely to cover the customers in charge.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Create automation programs and build systems that meet customer needs.
Accompanied by a sales representative, explain technical information, understand customer needs, and make system/workflow proposals.

Demonstrate and present products to prospective clients.
Conduct various seminars/explanations of system operation to customers and sales reps.
Respond to inquiries from customers, distributors, and BEC sales.
Report customer requests, defects, etc. to QA and work with global technical support to resolve issues as necessary.
Prepare various sales materials, application notes, and simple manuals.
The essential requirements of the job include: (NOTE For Hiring Manager: Please reference the 3-5-7 Job Requirements Model)
Masters/Doctors in biology, medical, pharmacy and engineering
Longer than 3 years research experiences in Bio/Life Sciences or application supports in Bio/Life Sciences.
Middle level business English (conversation, reading and writing)
PC Skills (MS Office Excel, Word, Power point)
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Japanese
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
Ability to travel – travel almost every day to customer sites on a day trip. Overnight travel, 1~2 per month
Preferably have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess the following qualifications
Programing skills, such as VB script
