Department Overview
The AI & Data Division in charge is responsible for supporting the development of AI by analyzing data from Rakuten's various services and providing solutions to improve services. It is also a global organization with employees located not only in Japan but also abroad.
The AI & Data HR Group solves various AI human resource and organizational management issues faced as the business expands.
The mission is to work together to create HR strategies and system designs that can contribute to corporate growth by thinking outside the box, accurately grasping internal and external needs, and supporting corporate growth in terms of people and organization.

You will be assigned to the Group Human Resources Department (GHRD) and in charge of AI & Data Division’s HRBP for this position. GHRD consists of various HR functions such as payroll, training, recruiting and HRBP. This is a great opportunity to work in an environment where you will be able to communicate well with other sections through a variety of PJTs and where there are plenty of long-term career paths.

Why We Hire:
The AI & Data HR Group is currently an organization with one manager and several staff members; it started fully operational in January 2025. We are looking for a senior HRBP to draw up the HR strategy as well as a staff level HRBP (HR Generalist) to support implementation. We are looking for proactive and ambitious new members to strengthen our organization and expand our business.
Position Details:
You will be responsible for the following tasks in collaboration with your division and other HR departments (CoE). In the future, you will also be responsible for HR strategy as HRBP.
- Procedures for joining and leaving the company, maternity and paternity leave, etc.
- Evaluation operations
- labor management
- Responding to enquiries from employees, etc.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience in HR in an operating company/shared company in either evaluation or labor affairs operations (both a plus).
- Native level of Japanese
- Business level English (reading and writing required for handling enquiries).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as HRBP/HR generalist in a large company
- Experience of using English in the workplace
Desired Personality :
- Able to work steadily on complex tasks close to the field.
- Able to act with a sense of speed and flexibility in the face of change.
