POSITION SUMMARY

As an HR Manager in Japan, you will be responsible for supporting and partnering with our teams in Japan and the APAC Region and will act as employees’ initial contact within Domo HR Japan and APAC. This role will help drive strategies, prioritize, influence, plan and implement key people initiatives to enable the business to scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Business Partnering

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Japan and our APAC leadership team, providing guidance on HR policies and initiatives;
  • Leverage business acumen, competitive insights, external benchmarking, and internal data to inform decisions on org design, compensation practices, and engagement initiatives to retain the best talent;
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and employment regulations;
  • Partner with global HR teams to implement company-wide HR programs such as, performance reviews, learning and development, compensation, and benefits within Japan and the APAC Region;
  • Build manager capability and facilitate employee career growth by developing the skills and capabilities of our diverse, global workforce;
  • Work collaboratively to identify solutions on issues such as employee relations, morale, compensation questions, and development opportunities;
  • Create a world class employee experience and deliver innovative, impactful solutions by partnering with Domo’s exceptional team of HR professionals including Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Total Rewards, DEI, Talent Management and Learning and HRBP teams;
  • Oversee employee transaction paperwork, creation, submission, and filing;
  • Provide development training and coaching to management and individuals on policy and best practices as needed;
  • Champion Domo culture, vision, and values in personal work and interactions with others;
  • Serve as a cultural liaison, fostering effective communication and understanding between the US Headquarters and the Japan/APAC offices by bridging cultural differences, aligning local practices with global policies, and ensuring a smooth exchange of ideas and expectations across teams;
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Talent Acquisition

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify talent needs;
  • Manage candidate pipeline and ensuring an excellent candidate experience;
  • Stay up-to-date with hiring trends and market intelligence in Japan.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience within human resources and recruiting;
  • Strong knowledge of Japan’s and the APAC Region employment laws and HR practices;
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, with a track record of successfully filling roles in Japan;
  • Experience with navigating complex organizations and with influencing initiatives to successful conclusion;
  • Ability to act as an internal consultant, make recommendations, determine organizational needs, and influence Talent Management strategy;
  • Experience working with senior leaders in Japan and the APAC Region;
  • Strong customer service focus;
  • Business and Conversational fluency in both Japanese and English;
  • Degree or certificate in HR, business management, or in a related discipline is preferred.
