Job Description

Agilent is looking for a Japan Country HR Director who can inspire, lead and motivate the Country HR team to deliver superior people outcomes in the areas of HR compliance, engagement and employee relations for approximately 550 employees across multiple sites in Japan.

Reporting to the Regional HR Associate Vice President, key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:

  • Develop, implement and continuously finetune local HR strategies, policies and programs with your team to deliver first class HR operations in an effective and compliant manner that support the overall company and business needs
  • Oversee all employee and labour relations activities, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and local legal requirements
  • Provide consultative and strategic advice to business leaders on people matters, driving optimal company and business outcomes
  • Lead and support the implementation of complex changes (e.g. mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, transformation, etc.) to support company growth
  • Champion organization engagement, diversity & inclusion, and an exceptional employee experience
  • Drive efforts to further strengthen our company culture and values
  • Work closely with HR partners and vendors to deliver holistic HR solutions
  • Create an operational framework that attracts, retains, and develops the local Country HR team, fostering growth mindset and continuous improvement

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree in a Human Resources-related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of increasing managerial experience in HR operations, ideally within international and large-scale corporations
  • In-depth knowledge of current employment legislation and industry trends in Japan
  • High proficiency in both English and Japanese for business communication
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including labour organizations, government agencies the team, and senior management across diverse cultural backgrounds and geographies to achieve shared goals
  • Proven social skills to lead teams and drive strong execution
  • A proven track record of leading and implementing transformation initiatives as a practitioner of change management and continuous process improvement
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills, guiding your time and the team’s focus on the most impactful items and effective mode of delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and navigate dynamics in a fast-paced environment

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
