Licensing Manager, Data Licensing (APAC)
Role/Department Description:
Data Licensing Manager APAC Region is part of the Data Licensing and Operations Team with responsibility in leading the vendor relationships with APAC Stock Exchanges and the end-to-end administration associated with them. The candidate will be the main point person and be responsible for cultivating strong relations with our APAC suppliers.
Working with internal stakeholders and other members of Data Operations and Licensing team to secure data licensing rights as needed. This role will take ownership of existing workflows and processes related to ongoing support of our contractual obligations and exchange administration. Working closely with Product Development, Legal, Finance, and Enterprise Solutions team members, the successful candidate will manage complex projects that span systems and departments to drive greater efficiency and improved internal and external communications.
The candidate will also be responsible for being a SME in global exchange policies; keeping documentation up to date and communicating such to internal stakeholders.
Location: Tokyo / Singapore / Hong Hong / Shanghai
Responsibilities:
50% Manage and lead commercial relationships with regional market data providers as required.
Responsible for the prioritization of new content acquisition in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Proactively collaborate with relevant business units and the FP&A team on Real-Time Exchange strategy.
Contract management according to business needs by liaising with third party vendors and internal stakeholders on a regular basis. Driving these communications.
Review and process addendums, including exchange exhibit A as needed, liaising with internal groups to coordinate broadest content use.
Support rights management - utilizing and maintaining rights management tools, compiling and managing internal feedback,
In line with best practices, conduct review of terms and conditions language and interpret based on business requirements.
Mentor junior members of the team.
30% Policy and Compliance - be responsible for being a SME in regional exchange policies; keeping documentation up to date and communicating such to internal stakeholders.
10% Coordinate with vendors and internal groups including Sales, Finance, Product Development and Legal to support and implement data vendor administrative processes.
10% Lead departmental projects both independent and group with limited guidance.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Fluency in English, Japanese both verbally and in written word. Other languages desired.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to correspond with a diverse group of stakeholders and vendors.
· Minimum 3 years in Specialist role or equivalent.
· Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in global financial markets and market data distribution
· Expertise in real time, delayed, end-of-day and historical market data licensing concepts.
· Full understanding of different use cases and the licensing pertaining to such use cases.
· Forward facing, client-centric with a proven ability to build strong relations.
· Strong computer skills including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
· Ability to read, analyse, and interpret licensing contracts.
· Extensive experience in licensing redistribution, index creation, sustainable finance, and derived data use cases.
· Proven attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
· Demonstrated ability to grasp new and/or complex concepts and apply them to projects as necessary.
· Ability to handle multiple projects independently.
· Willingness to work in a global organization with team members in different geographic locations.
