Position Summary
A Launch PM (Project Manager) plays a crucial role in ensuring a well-planned, coordinated, and successful product launch, providing value through efficient execution, cross-functional collaboration, risk management, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The Launch PM will manage not only one product but multiple products across BUs at same time.
The role of a Launch PM is to oversee and manage the entire process of launching a new product and successfully execute the project following the strategies and as scheduled. The role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders involved in the launch, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget. The Launch PM is accountable for the cross-functional execution of various events during the launch including management of timelines, cost, quality, and risk mitigation. The Launch PM also provides inputs to shape/evolve the project strategy and contributes for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities of a Launch PM
Execution and Monitoring: Launch PM oversee the execution of the launch plan, ensuring that tasks are completed as scheduled. Launch project manager monitors progress, identify and address any issues or bottlenecks, and make necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
Risk Management: Launch PM identifies potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize any negative impact on the launch. Launch PM also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Team Coordination: Launch PM collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Medical, Sales, R&D, GPS, BI&A, Market access, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory affairs, and other related roles to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the launch process for successful execution.
Stakeholder Management: Launch PM communicates with various stakeholders including senior management, to provide updates, gather feedback, and manage expectations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills including the ability to execute project plans, manage resources, track progress, identify issues, proactively ideate solutions, mitigate risks, and take part or lead improvement. PMP certification desirable preferred.
Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and senior management. A Launch PM should be able to provide clear instructions, actively listen, and facilitate productive discussions. Strong leadership skills are also needed to motivate and inspire team members towards project success.
Critical Thinking: Strong ability to integrate and succinctly summarize the various parts of a project and effectively tailor messages to report to audience incl. senior leaders.
Enterprise mindset: Ability to see one or more level up bigger picture to analyze status from micro and macro perspectives and from various stakeholder views. Identifies the most reasonable paths to overcome the challenges to accomplish targeted goals. Able to deliver against commercial and broader performance objectives.
Problem-Solving: Ability to effectively identify problems, issues, concerns, risks. Expertise in resolving complex problems and navigating challenging situations with diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities to analyze complex situations, identify potential issues, and proactively lead the development of critical path analysis to develop/ideate effective solutions. Facilitate and resolve necessary issues to meet ultimate goals.
Organizational and time management skills: Effective organizational and time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines. Launch PM should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle competing priorities.
Stakeholder Management: Deep understanding of the roles & responsibilities of each stakeholder. The ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders, including Global and Local team members, related functions, vendors, and senior management. Launch PM should be skilled in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Tools & Processes: Ability to operate launch Project management tools and other peripheral applications to effectively deliver required outcomes.
Adaptability and Flexibility: Projects often involve unexpected changes and challenges. A Project Manager should be adaptable and flexible, able to adjust plans and strategies as needed to ensure project success.
Soft skills: Positive mindset and building positive relationships with colleagues. Collaboration skills including active listening, compromise, conflict resolution, and the ability to leverage diverse perspectives to achieve common goals. Other soft skills such as, growth mindset, adaptability, agility, emotional intelligence, networking, active listening, proactive approach, creativity, succinct message delivery, sense of urgency, flexibility.
