SUMMARY:

Reporting into the Orthopedics Sr. Director, Medical Education International markets, the Med Ed Manager for Japan is responsible for creating meaningful programs for the courses related with practicing surgeons, nurses, residents, fellows or other related Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) relative to key focus areas in Japan.

This role will implement educational pathways and adapt to the assigned country the global content available, in collaboration with course faculty and will make sure that we are offering educational experiences across the educational continuum featuring key products determined by Marketing. This role will work closely with with the Marketing&Sales organization and communicate and reinforce the enrollment of the appropriate HCPs based on selection criteria related to the HCPs experience and expertise.

Leads by example through consistent engagement and relationship building with S+N faculty and internal stakeholders. Communicates closely with peers, especially with Global Content Development, Professional Affairs, Simulation Manager, Meeting planners and Marketing.

Work closely with HCP faculty and internal stakeholders, to implement high-quality programs at the S+N educational events that drive adoption in key focus areas of the franchises. Establishes program learning objectives, attendee profile, communicates these to the business organization and reinforces criteria during enrollment to lead to product adoption.

Adapts the content developed by Global content development to the countries’ needs, in terms of pre/post content, agenda, attendees profiles and others. Also embraces new technologies available (Virtual Reality, Simulation, S+N Academy Online, others) to provide blended learning journeys.

Selects and mantains the relation with faculty. Responsible of faculty communication, invitation and development

Includes in Engage all information related to the course and the explanation behind the selection of the faculties and is in close contact with Professional Affairs in regards to the contractual situation of the faculties.

Translates the key commercial priorities of the assigned business in Japan to medical education needs and plans a med ed calendar & resources accordingly, including the management of the assigned budget. Identifies and engages with Key Opinion Leaders on current trends and needs in the industry. Identifies opportunities for collaboration on education.

REQUIREMENTS

Travel

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, Science or related area; Medical and/or scientific and professional education or marketing emphasis preferred.

Experience

Working understanding of training processes. Must have 5 years of experience in the field of healthcare or medical device, preferably with orthopedic exposure, with a strong bias on education. High technical knowledge on the main ortho procedures, ideally S+N products.
