Department Overview

Incubation Business is creating the future core businesses of Rakuten in new business domains. Our mission is to startup services that does not exist in the market or work on something that is about to become a trend in small teams like a startup venture in Rakuten.

You will be involved in a business that has received a lot of attention from CEO and management and that can have a significant impact on the market. In some cases, you will be involved in business collaboration within Rakuten Group, and you will often interact with multiple stakeholders to advance your work.

The position we are recruiting for is a start-up member for a new business in retail x AI area. You can enhance your skills through various business development experiences such as business & operation planning, operation management, sales activities etc.

Position Details

You will first be mainly responsible for design-related tasks, and will be responsible for the overall tasks required to set up the business in the medium to long term. For example, the following specific tasks will be undertaken.

- Creating 3D perspectives for business proposals
- Internal and external consultation on VMD strategies from a design perspective
- Developing and verifying business plans and strategies
- Developing new clients
- Design and operation of services
- Project management
- Member development, etc.

This position is ideal for those with a career vision to shift from a design role to a business role.

Work Environment

We are now a team of about 5 people.

We will expand our team as our business grows.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in creating 3D perspectives for business proposals

- Responsibility and get things done mind

- Customer oriented mind

- High communication skills

- Flexibility to business and market changes

Desired Qualifications:

- Retail and trade marketing experience (sales experience a plus)
- Experience in VMD operations
- Experience of setting up a new business
- Experience of working in the retail industry
- Experience of working in the manufacturing industry
- Experience in the advertising industry
- Experience in system development/infrastructure design

TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country)

If no evidence is available to prove the qualifications denoted above, taking an IP test, organized by Rakuten, during selection process is required.
