Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing’s Indirect Supply Chain (ISC) organization has an outstanding opportunity for Procurement Agents to join our International (Non-US) team. We are hiring candidates that will procure a variety of indirect categories like IT, Construction and Office Interior Fit Out General Contracting, Purchased Services, MRO, Capex, Professional (Car Rental, Contract Labor, Marketing, Translation, Facility, etc.) Services and Office Equipment.

The Japan position will be based at the Boeing office in Tokyo and will require the Procurement Agent to be in Office 3 days a week minimum (with some flexibility) supporting the internal stake holders (Business Partners) and day-to-day operations.

Contract types include purchase orders as well as managing long term agreements.

The primary responsibilities of this position shall include:

  • Project Management skills- Coordination with all the concerned stakeholders in a Construction, Office Refurbishment or any other long term projects.
  • Demonstrate fundamental contract and relationship management skills, with proven experience at all phases of the procurement cycle for projects and commodities at all project phases.
  • Lead the negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions with full competency for Boeing Korea’s contracts.
  • Assist contracts, subject to the suppliers, will be written in Korean languages.
  • Leads coordination with the North Asia regional legal counsel and ISC legal to ensure efficient review of Japanese / Korean language supplier contracts.
  • Prepare, develop and execute negotiation strategies that result in year-over-year cost savings to Boeing, contractual documents and binding agreements.
  • Leads cross functional teams to manage and resolve supplier performance issues, contract review issues, support the development of strategic supplier solutions and other identified issues.
  • Leads and/or participate on supply chain process improvement teams to identify improvement opportunities for potential integration into supplier contract strategies.
  • Develops relationships and works with Boeing stakeholders to clarify and define procurement requirements.
  • Develops creative and effective contracting approaches.
  • Leads proposal analysis and develops negotiation strategies.
  • Leads the supplier negotiation process and negotiates all elements of the contract.
  • Prepares and executes negotiated documents for Boeing Korea and other entities in the Asia region as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages contract terminations (ie. transitions, wind down etc.)
  • Leads or participates in proposal analysis to fulfil customer and program strategic requirements.
  • Leads suppliers and stakeholders in the development of risk, issues and opportunities management plans.
  • Leads project reviews.
  • Provides market and peer benchmarking insight and actionable data to integrate into current and future contracting and supply base strategies.
  • Manages and analyses supplier performance.
  • Provides direction to suppliers to improve performance and ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Manages supplier import and export regulatory requirements and working with Global Trade Controls closely.
  • Work with Accounts payable to resolve all payment issues.
  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day tasks of Procurement Agents from Boeing’s Outsourced Partner, based out of Malaysia and ensure the Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders are closed within the Boeing defined SLA/KPIs and following Boeing’s defined Procurement Processes for all the <$100K Good & Services purchases requirements in APAC Region.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 8 years more experiences of related work (procurement agent)

Minimum 5 year more experience of working in multinational corporations and Global stakeholder management are desirable.

Language Requirements:

  • Business level of written and spoken in English
  • Functional level of Writing and Speaking Skills in Korean
  • Native level of written and spoken in Japanese

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 8 years experiences of related work (as a Buyer / Sourcing Lead / Purchasing)
  • Must display leadership traits like leading business meetings, presentations, and supplier negotiations in both languages.
  • Proven experience in Korean business practices and customs.
  • Project management skills. Fluent both written and spoken in English

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree or non-US equivalent is preferred with 8 or more years related work experience. Degrees or certifications in business, business management, international business & procurement (e.g. MCIPS) are desirable.

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site (with some flex) at Boeing Japan’s Tokyo office.
