The company's products are supplied mainly to various industries such as automotive, industrial, etc. The Japan office has over 1,000 employees and is based in Central Tokyo.
Description
* Manage end-to-end procurement activities for 2 main categories: Energy Solutions and Raw Materials
* Support regional category by developing supplier market and implementing strategic initiatives at local level
* Source suppliers, handle RFQ process, and evaluate suppliers' capabilities against current supplier base
* Handle supplier negotiations for both long-term and short-term contracts, ensuring competitiveness of company's supplier base
* Partner with local internal stakeholders to manage procurement tasks for ongoing projects
* Participate in regional sustainable sourcing initiatives and lead sustainable sourcing tasks for Japan business
Profile
* Minimum 5 years of direct procurement experience
* Experience coming from manufacturing companies (ideally from chemical, utilities, or energy industries)
* Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers in both Japanese and English
* Fluent Japanese skills required and business level English skills preferred
* Must be a resident of Japan and/or must hold a valid working visa for Japan
