About the Role

Job Description

Workday is looking for a Buyer to report into the Manager of Purchasing Operations. This person will be responsible for facilitating the procurement of goods and service and managing procurement project intake requests. Responsibilities include creating purchase requisitions, issuing PO’s, reconciling invoice discrepancies, facilitating the routing of contracts, assisting with supplier onboarding requirements, and providing strong customer service. This role may also include additional responsibilities including daily interactions with Workday stakeholders, procurement tool assistance, data cleanup, administrative tasks involving Workday contracts, or other procurement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Precisely follow Desktop Procedures and Procurement Policies to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Create purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to investigate and reconcile invoice and receiving transaction discrepancies.
  • Engage with the internal business partners to gather required data for the intake and completion of projects or other initiatives.
  • Route contracts for signatures.
  • Assist with new supplier onboarding tasks
  • Provide strong customer service support to internal business partners and procurement stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations and help drive process improvements.
  • Potential additional responsibilities including those listed in the job description

About You

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Procurement, Operations, or business-related field desired
  • Speaks fluent English and Japanese
  • Experience in creating purchase orders is desired.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and tools
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and provides complete follow through on areas of responsibilities.
  • Ability to identify key purchasing related issues.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with the ability to change direction quickly and often.
  • Collaborative team player; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well within tight deadlines.
  • Sound business judgment with strong cross-team coordination skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of the Source to Pay processes.
  • Proactive, result oriented, with a can-do attitude in meeting critical deadlines.
  • Dedicated, able to work independently while staying connected with the greater team.
  • Able to prioritize workload, and drive team initiatives as assigned
  • In office requirement minimum of 50% of the time
