Basic purpose of role/Why the job exists:
The Transport Product Engineer is responsible for the day to day product support and technical aspects of customer product enquiries. In partnership with the sales team and Product Manager, the Transport product Engineer will offer customers direct access to a product expert who ensures superior customer support over our competitors within market.
The Transport Product Engineer is an expert in all technical aspects of the Stryker EMS Transport portfolio and interacts with customers and company sales and/or service representatives to handle a variety of pre-sales or post-sales service functions. The Product Engineer provides a vital link between new product sales and end-users by providing technical support related to all aspects of product installation, function and use. This includes (and is not limited to); product servicing, repairs, installation, vehicle fit-outs, configuration and atypical product modifications for unique circumstances.
This is an individual contributor role that requires a technically minded professional to enable the use of judgment in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. From time to time the job requires
From time to time the Product Engineer will be tasked with supporting the broader Emergency Care team across Japan in support of improving or managing commercial engagement with existing partners and distributors.
Key areas of accountability:
- Responding to day to day enquiries and requests from existing transport customers. These requests include but are not limited to spare parts, inventory management and quality and service agreements
- Acts as a conduit between customer product technicians and Stryker’s own tech services personnel
- Maintain communication with global stakeholders to support product inquiry (PI), Field Actions (PFA and Recall)
- First point of contact for technical pre sales product enquiry and accessible post sales technical support as required
- Grow and develop business relationships within Stryker and with external parties
- Gathering and disseminating client/stakeholder feedback from industry
- Identify changes needed in content and marketing materials
- In-depth understanding of competitor products, activity and key wins
- Support the growth of market share in the region
- Trusted and proactive product specialist
- Support achievement of sales budget
- Support growth of ProCare and technical service sales
- Support technical aspects for tenders and proposals
- Support clinical / operational trials within accounts
- Support roll-out and implementation of products within EMS agencies as required.

Critical Requirements (eg: skills, experience, qualifications):
- Demonstrated experience or ability to connect technical and operational knowledge with a sales function
- Proven track record of success in a technical role
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent networking skills with an ability to collaborate with third parties involved in the sales cycle (EMS vehicle builders and suppliers)
- Effective communication at all levels with the ability to maintain high level relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external
- Proven high-level problem-solving skills demonstrating the use of initiative to resolve issues/queries.
- Proven ability to organise project workflow and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

- English speaking
- Exposure to CRM system or similar
Other requirements (eg: travel, on-call responsibilities):
- Given this is a highly field based role it is anticipated that there will be travel throughout Japan (approx. 50%).
