About the Role:
As a Professional Driver for the Pavilion at Expo 2025, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure transportation of the Commissioner General, Pavilion staff, VIPs, and other key personnel. This role requires a highly professional and experienced driver who is familiar with Japan's regulations, high-profile transport, and event logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
VIP Transport: Safely drive the Commissioner General, Pavilion staff, and other VIPs to designated locations, ensuring timely arrivals and adherence to event schedules.
Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly perform routine maintenance and checks on the vehicle, ensuring compliance with Japanese vehicle safety standards under the Road Transport Vehicle Act (道路運送車両法), including oil changes and mechanical repairs.
Cleanliness & Presentation: Ensure that the vehicle is always clean, both inside and outside, presenting a professional and polished image of the Pavilion.
Errands & Administrative Support: Carry out various errands, such as delivering invitations or handling post-office tasks, and assist with any administrative duties as required.
Detailed Record-Keeping: Maintain a comprehensive “Driver Log,” keeping accurate records of transportation activities, vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and any incidents, in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
Event Protocol Adherence: Follow all event-related transportation protocols, including pick-up and drop-off procedures for high-profile events and handling security measures when transporting VIPs.
Emergency Assistance: Respond to emergency situations as needed, following established safety procedures and protocols under the guidance of the Pavilion Director or Security Supervisor.
Requirements:
Valid Japanese Driver’s License: Must hold a valid Japanese commercial driver’s license (大型自動車免許 - Ōgata Jidōsha Menkyo), allowing operation of passenger vehicles and larger transport vehicles.
Japanese Residency: Must reside in Osaka or the surrounding area, with an in-depth understanding of local road networks and traffic patterns.
Clean Driving Record: A proven clean driving history with no major violations under Japan's Road Traffic Act (道路交通法).
Professional Driving Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional driving experience, particularly in luxury vehicles or chauffeur services for VIPs, executives, and diplomats.
GPS & Route Planning: Proficiency in using GPS systems and navigation apps to plan and optimize routes for VIP transport, ensuring on-time arrivals at multiple locations.
Language Proficiency: Good English and Japanese; proficiency in French is an asset.
Physical Fitness: Ability to assist with the loading and unloading of luggage or equipment as necessary.
Event Protocol Knowledge: Experience with handling transportation logistics for international events, ensuring smooth pick-up and drop-off, while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Adaptability: Flexibility to work long hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required by the event schedule.
Expérience:
3-5 years of experience in professional driving, ideally with a focus on luxury transport or services for VIP clients.
Proven ability to navigate efficiently through busy traffic, optimizing routes to ensure timely arrivals for time-sensitive events.
Experience handling high-pressure, high-security transport situations, particularly in event-driven environments.
Conditions of Work:
Contract Duration: Fixed term, from February, 2025 to October 31, 2025.
There will be no vacation leave granted during this period;
Available to work long hours from time to time or flexible hours i.e. 4 hours in early morning and 4 hours in late evening.
