Job Description

Team Summary

Risk and Identity Solutions team offers a comprehensive suite of Visa Protect Solutions to Visa clients to help prevent fraud across the entire payment journey, across all payment endpoints and networks- without stopping the flow of business. The Risk Analyst will provide risk consultancy to Visa clients, including Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants, to help them manage the risk of accepting payments online. This role is based in our Tokyo office and reporting into Director of Risk Solutions Services Japan.

What Risk Analyst does at Visa:

The Risk Analyst will be responsible for managing the risk strategies for clients, which includes identify emerging fraud trends, developing strategies proactively to mitigate these trends using a combination of Visa and industry tools.

• Analyse transaction data with a view to optimizing risk management strategies and payment success for clients,


• Provide and deliver concise reports on a regular basis that adheres to clients' requirements and objectives.


• Being able to influence both internal and external stakeholders of their decisions backed by data.


• Deliver product demonstration and training sessions to clients on the use of Visa Protect Solutions. This may be done over the phone or involve giving face-to-face presentations / workshops.


• Consult clients on how to use our products or taking full control (including configuration) of our risk solution services to help our clients in achieving their business priorities.


• Act as a domain expert, to acquire and share industry best practice and emerging trends and technologies within payment risk management.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a fraud team at a financial institution or ecommerce merchant with Bachelor’s degree.


• Fluent in reading, speaking, writing in both Japanese and English


• Experience of interpreting results from fraud tools used to combat online card fraud (e.g. 3DSecure, device fingerprinting, IP geolocation, velocity, neural scoring etc.).


• Must have experience


• Strong communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise reports and the skills to communicate complex concepts and results to customers via phone, email or face to face engagements.


• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Office)


• Experience of analyzing large sets of transaction data to identify patterns and trends.


• Experience of working with Tableau and SQL.

What will also help:

A preferred candidate would have Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Finance, or Computer Science / Engineering, broad risk management experience working with issuers, acquirers and e commerce merchants on their fraud strategies using risk products such as Decision Manager, Visa Risk Manager or Visa Authentication Service. A strong communicator in influencing decisions at multiple levels and confident speaking to key stakeholders will be a plus, along with excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and influencing skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
