Group/Division

The Instruments Group is passionate about development of state-of-the-art inspection and metrology equipment used in production and research and development environments. Organization is globally located in US, China, and Singapore. We provide critical cost-effective solutions for power electronics, LED, communications, automotive, data storage, and other related nanoelectronics and materials science applications. We partner with our customers to provide state of the art hardware and software to improve yield and lower overall production costs by supplying world-leading inspection, metrology and review systems. In addition to developing valuable product solutions, the group provides support to customers to achieve performance entitlement through sharing and implementation of application BKMs (Best Known Methods).

Job Description

【Responsibilities】

  • Responsible for sales in Japan region for Instruments Group product.
  • Develop strong relationship with academic and industrial customers.
  • Meet or exceed all quarterly and annual sales objectives for assigned geographical area.
  • Prospect for leads and maintain a significant opportunity pipeline to assure on-going growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans to achieve short/long term objectives.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of customers within the region who are typically scientists doing materials research in academic universities, government research labs or industrial research/QA-QC labs.
  • Provide timely information on competitive activities within the region and overall marketplace.
  • Monitor sales metrics and maintain complete activity records on CRM platform.
  • Provide ‘Voice of the Customer’ input for product development/improvement on a continuous basis.
  • Deliver accurate product sales forecasts through close management of sales opportunities.
  • Understand customer’s metrology requirements and provide solutions using various optical, interferometry and stylus-based product from Instruments Group.
  • Lead all customer related commercial issues and negotiations.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 40-50% of the work time.

【Qualifications】

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science or Engineering undergraduate degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in direct sales of analytical instrumentation or test systems
  • Must have business experience with universities and government agencies and be skilled in the purchasing process.
  • Sales or Applications experience preferred in optical metrology, nanoindentation or thin film metrology.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals with an understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Ability to deliver effective technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
  • Result-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication along with accomplished digital literacy.
  • Experience with Miller Heiman or Conceptual Sales techniques and Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • English language proficiency, both written and verbal, and native level Japanese skill.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
