Job Description

The Sales Account Manager, Japan, is responsible for driving profitable growth in the territory, with a primary focus on the Life Sciences, Materials Science, and Semiconductors markets. You will be responsible for fostering strong client relationships within existing accounts, developing account management strategies to build growth opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver software solutions that meet clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy, with a focus on major/strategic accounts and targeted new logos.
- Own and further the relationship between the account and Thermo Fisher Scientific, MSD Software, ensuring a complete understanding of the client's short, mid, and long-term goals.
- Identify potential customers through market analysis and evaluate their needs, financial ability, and alignment with our product/service offerings.
- Prepare and implement a sales strategy, encompassing prospecting, qualifying, presenting, proposing, closing, and installation.
- Plan and deliver effective sales presentations and ensure that technical and service requirements are met.
- Prospect for new partners and develop and supervise partner business plans.
- Collaborate with application and system engineering teams to optimally meet customer needs and increase sales in the assigned territory.
- Stay updated on competition and potential solution offerings, and identify the need for special research projects.
- Forecast sales orders from assigned accounts and identify competitor activities.

Experience and Requirements:
- Confirmed experience in selling business software and/or professional services and solutions to universities, commercial research organizations, and biotech/pharmaceutical companies.
- Track record of effectively growing revenue through partner relationships.
- Knowledge in any of the following fields: 3D CT systems, MRI, Electron Microscopies, Confocal and other Microscopies, 3D CT scanning services, 3D Software solutions, quality compliance with Digital technologies. Experience in industrial 3D CT inspection, metrology, 3D measurement and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with prior experience in effective networking and negotiation techniques.
- Proficiency in leading and participating in a distributed team environment.
- Involvement with the research market institutes and academic sector is helpful.
- Experience in the life science, biotech/pharmaceutical, materials science, or industrial markets is a plus.
- Confirmed understanding of universities, governmental research institutions, and company: products, policies, and operational procedures.
- Proficient in Japanese, with a strong command of English.

Travel Requirement:
Approximately 35% travel is required.
