Role reports to: Associate Director - R&D Essential Health APAC
Location: Kudan, Tokyo
What you will do
Maximize the value of our oral care and DCL products to Japanese consumers and Healthcare professionals aligned to the companies' vision, values and business objectives.
You will leverage your Oral Care and Skin health expertise, clinical insights and externally orientated mindset to enable the delivery of innovation and life-cycle management projects covering medical engagement, thought-leadership, evidence-generation and claims innovation for the Listerine and DCL brands.
A critical part of this role is to proactively engage with KOLs, Health Authorities, Universities, Hospitals and Research institution to drive thought-leadership, scientific credibility, and advocacy with the goal of elevating the role of mouthwash and skin care in driving optimum health for all. Operating with an end-to-end mindset you will partner closely with cross-functional teams at a local, regional and global level including Government affairs, marketing, R&D, business development, finance, compliance, Government affairs, operations and Regulatory affairs
Key Responsibilities
• Accountability for overall execution of KOL engagements, educational programs, key medical message communications.
• Develop and grow strong relationships with a trusted panel of KOLs that can deliver industry leading, highly relevant scientific content to engage and educate health care professionals across Japan.
• Partner with key external stakeholders to share relevant science at forums, congresses, Health authority events etc. to drive the relevance of our products as part of everyday care.
• Work with the regional team to develop and share new science content with KOLs/ DHCPs/ Health Authorities/ Customers and Consumers in Japan
• Conduct regular training sessions to educate internal employees on the science of our products
• Partner with the local and regional R&D teams to help develop new claims, communications and demos that elevate and/or differentiate our products through superior science.
• Support commercial events by conducting live demos, Q&A sessions, PR engagements etc. to share our science with consumers and customers.
• Consult with regional team to ensure medical enquiries from internal and external customers are responded to in timely fashion with high quality and in accordance with internal policy and external legislation.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
• Over 5 years industry-relevant experience on KOL management, external management, science communications in Oral care & Skin Health
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams both locally and ex- Japan with outstanding communication and people skills to activate and engage others and can influence without authority.
• Proven track record of driving thought-leadership and KOL advocacy
• Experience of developing and administering training programs within the Oral care/ healthcare industries
• Being able to connect cross-functionally building strong interdependent partnerships internally and externally
• Good project, budget and time-management skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and constructively challenge the cross-functional team and business partners. Set strategic direction for innovation pipeline and to achieve project goals.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
