We are dedicated to developing state-of-the-art systems that integrate IoT, identity, authorization, and security features, among others, to ensure seamless and secure operations. Specifically, our access control team is responsible for managing physical devices attached to gates and doors, in addition to the cloud-based backend system of access control.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We are hiring Engineers for an individual contributor role based in Tokyo. This role reports to either the Access Control System Product Owner or the Facility Service System Function Lead, with a focus on enhancing our access control system.
We are seeking highly motivated, energetic, and exceptional engineers to join our team. In this role, you are expected to apply your expertise in software development, cloud-based platforms, IoT, along with your knowledge of authentication and authorization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement the integration of hardware components and software for access control systems
  • Collaborate with other engineers to define requirements, design software architecture, engage in coding, and conduct testing
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including city platform, operations, and security, to ensure safe and comprehensive implementation of requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience with software development in one or more of the programming languages, such as Go, Java, Python, C# or JavaScript
  • Experience in developing systems that connect with IoT devices in domains such as Access Control or Smart Home
  • Experience of authentication methods such as NFC, QR codes, facial recognition, and authorization methods such as OAuth 2.0 and FIDO
  • Good communication, a proactive mindset, and strong problem-identification and solving skills
  • Business level proficiency in both Japanese and English languages

NICE TO HAVES

  • Familiarity with network level security experience such as SSL/TLS certificate
  • Experience and knowledge of TCP/UDP for communication, data collection, and device control, RTP for image/sound data streaming
  • Experience in backend development, especially in deploying cloud-based applications in containerized environments like Kubernetes, and solid skills in developing event-driven web systems with a focus on microservices and distributed architectures
  • Experience in front-end development in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and strong understanding of popular frameworks such as React
