TEAMOur team, Digital Twin Platform, as one of the core Woven Inventor Garage teams under the Woven City umbrella, is responsible for the realization of Woven City's vision: "Expand mobility. Enhance humanity. Engage society" by developing a robust software platform, on one hand to enable inventors and business owners to "test" their products in a virtual environment before deploying to the physical Woven City; on the other hand, to create analytics to assist in decision making based on both simulated results and more importantly operational data collected from the physical city, such as residents daily life, traffic dynamics, energy consumption, etc.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a passionate technical leader who can design and implement innovative technical solutions that meet our clients' needs leveraging platform products built internally. You will work with solution engineers on various high profile projects and communicate with clients directly on technical solutions. We expect you to have a strong technical background in software development, platform architecture, and a proven track record of leveraging common libraries and existing solutions (both open source and commercial) to deliver innovative technical solutions. You should also have the experience to effectively collaborate across functions and organizations internally and externally to deliver measurable results.
You will be reporting to the Digital Twin Simulation Technology sub-function manager, and this is a hybrid work style role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively design and lead implementation for software applications based on project goals and roadmaps
  • Develop a variety of applications and software, utilizing new technologies, APIs, and SDKs, as part of an agile team. You'll contribute to the entire engineering lifecycle for Digital Twin Platform
  • Continuously improve and iterate on existing software and tools based on user feedback and evolving project requirements
  • Contribute to documentation efforts, providing clear explanations of developed interfaces and integration procedures
  • Participate in agile development processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring efficient project delivery
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
  • Mentor colleagues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience and skills in modern languages (C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.), C# experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience using common libraries and existing solutions (e.g., OpenCV, Havok physics engine, Tensorflow, Docker, Qt, database systems, etc.) to build robust applications
  • Experience with software development tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Systems design experience, with the ability to architect or explain complex systems interactions including data flows, common interfaces, APIs, and other methods
  • Business level proficiency in English and in conversational-level Japanese and the ability to effectively manage various stakeholders
  • Ability and desire to work independently and proactively to solve problems and build good software

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience with large-scale solution delivery as a technical leader
  • Knowledge of any of the following: software test frameworks, network programming, industrial simulation, etc.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones
  • Experience with development tools (protobuf, gRPC, nUnit / xUnit, nuget, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Experiences as Technical Lead or System Architect roles
