About the Role

As a Sales Management Specialist, you will be responsible for deepening our partnership with the customer across all areas of our business. (Mainly Car Audio, and other product/technology may be added later based on discussion). You will be responsible for creating product proposals in conjunction with our global team, bringing them to market and seeing them through production.

This role will play a key role in helping our customer achieving their goals and ensuring our successful partnership spans well.

The jobs areas are very varied and require working closely with the variety of customer teams such as Product Planning, Development, Launch Preparation and Marketing team etc. Involve working not only from Early Project Planning to Project Launch phase and but also Marketing Phase after SOP, to support improve Brand Value at the market.
What You Will Do

As an integral team member to the Vehicle Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering at the customer, you will be responsible for product lifecycle management for all responsible vehicles globally. As part of this role, you will

  • Determine the path and rational to help the customer delivering better experiences while improving Harman’s position in the market and overall business performance:
  • Identify business targets through a clear understanding of responsible vehicle model lifecycle timing and planning process.
  • Utilize benchmarking and internal collaboration to position Harman within the planning and marketing community.
  • Understand the customer’s business to find win-win opportunities across all of Harman’s technology offerings.
  • Work alongside key departments within the customer to influence product development by:
  • Collaborating with internal teams on designing competitive product offerings
  • Internally take a strong lead of company direction and support to proceed internal development process to achieve successful launch.
  • Proposing new technologies for vehicles coming to market to key decision makers at the customer.
  • Guiding development and sales process to a successful SOP
  • Establish strong relationships with Planning, Marketing and Sales Teams at the customer to deliver value throughout entire Product Lifecycle:
  • Increase trust to drive business development throughout entire Product Lifecycle.
  • Organize and Support training and education events to convey the value Harman delivers to market.
  • Support major vehicle launch events.
  • Mid-cycle management to ensure Harman can provide value throughout the entire lifecycle of the vehicle.

What You Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred (MBA is beneficial)
  • Language: Fluency (written and verbal) in Japanese, Business Ability (written and verbal) in English
  • Experience: 5 years Business Development experience with Japanese OEM.
  • General:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including oral presentations and business writing.
  • Willingness to look for improvement opportunities as KAIZEN mindset.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and team members at Harman.
  • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to work well in a matrixed team with minimal supervision.
  • Negotiation skills to find solutions that work for customers and Harman.
  • Critical thinker who can think on their feet.
  • Flexibility and business acumen to deal with customer requests.
  • Willingness to continuously stretch to reach goals.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). Especially Power Point.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen to be able to read and translate data to a working strategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience creating executive summaries to top management.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Integrity

  • Overseas experience.
  • Technical background of acoustic products
  • Passion for music and/or audio electronics.
  • Passion for automotive.

What Makes You Eligible
