Department Overview
Account Innovation Office, as a strategic partner for major brands, fully utilizes various assets owned by the Rakuten Group to broadly support everything from increasing brand awareness to expanding sales for major brands, including both Rakuten Ichiba and offline areas.
The Strategic Planning Division leverages Rakuten's big data, assets, and know-how to act as a strategic partner for major brands. They are responsible for all processes, from strategy formulation and planning to execution and effectiveness verification, in order to solve clients' challenges.

Position Details
Strategic Planner will form a client team together with the sales team and engage in the business expansion of major brands. This position involves setting common goals and executing the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle comprehensively, from pre-analysis of issues/opportunities to proposing measures, reviewing post-implementation, and considering next actions, while collaborating with clients from various industries.
Main Responsibilities
- Formulating strategies and plans to solve the challenges of major brands
- Coordinating with relevant departments for the implementation of plans
- Creating analysis reports after the completion of plans and preparing subsequent proposals based on findings
- Conducting multifaceted big data analysis
- Streamlining business processes
- Accumulating and sharing new case studies
Work Environment
Strategic Planning Section currently has 16 members.
A high proportion of the members have joined mid-career from manufacturers, advertising agencies, research firms, and other companies, and each is leveraging their previous experience to excel in their roles.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Experience in any of the following:
- Marketing, sales planning, or corporate sales experience at a manufacturer
- Planner experience at an advertising agency
- Researcher or planner experience at a research firm
- Experience in marketing strategy formulation at a consulting firm
PC Skills:
Excel/PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze issues using data and propose necessary actions
- Experience in consulting or operating e-commerce sites
- SQL skills
