Supervising Associate – Azure Administrator

As a Supervising Associate, you will collaborate with business, reporting, and other teams to understand business requirements and perform cloud architect activities. Get involved and Lead in project transitions from different teams, do enhancements and modification post transition when needed. You will work in more than one project with back end data architects and systems engineers to construct infrastructure necessary for supporting business requirements. You will also apply specialized knowledge to support the organization’s vision and direction, serving as your team's subject matter expert. Additionally, you will:

• Monitor and optimize the performance of Azure SQL databases.
• Analyse query plans, index tuning, and performance metrics.
• Implement performance-related features like Automatic Tuning.
• Ensure regular backups are taken and can be restored.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and outages.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds and updates statistics.
• Monitor and optimize Azure resource usage to control costs.
• Participate in production support and code deployment
• Take on end-to-end ownership and perform different roles within analysis and development phases
• Set and manage expectations with clients while providing proactive communication and status updates; prioritize deliverables with client/requestor, and follow/implement change control and release management processes
• Adhere to general work requirements and perform other duties as assigned

Desired Experience:

• More than 7 years of experience advanced knowledge as database administrator of Azure SQL Database
• More than 3 years Experience with Azure administration including provisioning, networking, security, and monitoring of data platform-oriented cloud
• Working knowledge of data build tools, Azure Data Factory, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, data lakes, data warehouses, big data.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field
• Experience of handling multiple projects and people in the past
• Be a mentor to team members in leveraging cloud capabilities

• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas as required
