Department Overview
The Group Quality Department supports the promotion of TQM/QMS across the entire company, including Rakuten Mobile, Inc.
The Quality Management Support Office is focusing on Rakuten Mobile, Inc., Rakuten Total Solutions, Inc., and Rakuten Symphony, Inc. as of 2024, and is driving second-line quality activities.
We aim to guarantee the quality that is expected by all our customers to use our services with confidence.
In the Quality Management Support Office, the team serves as the second line of defense, leading continuous company-wide Quality Management activities for Rakuten Mobile's products and programs. This includes managing the New Product Introduction Process, technical and process incident’s recurrence prevention, system audits and acting as an internal consultants to whole organization.

Position Details
Job Overview
Will be responsible for the Network-related Project within the System Quality Improvement framework. This role involves collaborating with the network division to execute processes, manage changes, and drive improvements, supporting the recurrence prevention and Audits.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Analyze network issues, identify root cause, define incident recurrence prevention, and drive implementation of improvement action
- Responsible for communication of Service Quality issue with other stack-holders
- Report quality promotion and activity status to executives
- Evaluate architecture and resiliency decisions to identify potential problems that span across domains
- Work with engineering teams to establish standards for high quality software and product delivery
- Perform quality audit from planning to closure (Study, gather data, analyze, Report, Track)
- Execute processes, manage changes, and drive improvements

Work Environment
Team Composition
The team consists of members from various specialties, including project managers, engineers, and quality assurance specialists. Each member has specific roles and responsibilities, working together to drive projects forward.
The entire team consists of approximately 11 members. Depending on the project, typically 2 to 3 members are assigned to each project.
Team Characteristics
The team is diverse, with members from various backgrounds and origins, fostering active exchange of different perspectives. Communication within the team is open, and there is a strong collaborative approach to problem-solving. Due to the flexible allocation of personnel based on project attributes, there are many cross-departmental projects.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- More than 5 years of telecom experience with working knowledge of LTE, 5G-NR network architecture
- Hands on development or integration & verification experience to be able to identify potential operational & performance issues at system level
- Ability to collect and analyze data to visualize problems, create improvement proposals aiming for long term quality improvements
- Quality oriented mind-set with cooperative attitude and good analytical skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunication, computer science or equivalent
- Problem-solving skills
- Working experience with Japanese clients/ companies
- Hands on experience of implementing and promoting quality standard initiatives
- Standardization, large scale process creation experience
