業務内容
1. Head of Tax by Forvis Mazars in Japan
Forvis Mazars in Japan is looking for a partner in the context of the succession of the present Head of Tax. You will oversee Forvis Mazars in Japan tax activities (Forvis Mazars Tax Corporation) under the leadership of the present Head of Tax and will progressively take his position in connection with his retirement.
Your role will be to manage and grow our pool of talent, develop the activity, and reinforce the positioning of Forvis Mazars in Japan as a major tax consultant for both compliance and advisory, specialized on cross-border clients (both Inbound and Outbound).
You are recognized as an expert in your field with a strong advisory mindset, which allows you to find the best solution for your clients. You have strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to federate and grow a loyal team as well as develop strong synergies with your peers in other business lines (Audit, Outsourcing and Consulting).
You are recognized on the market and aside of the existing portfolio, you are able to develop new assignments and clients, both Inbound and Japanese.
You are fluent in Japanese and English and can interact with a Japanese and international clientele, as well as with the Forvis Mazars Group.
2. Managing and growing a team of tax expert
You will be a role model and demonstrate leadership by showing your expertise to lead and manage teams and inspire the team to ensure they reach their full potential so that as a result, Tax team can execute the outstanding service to our client.
You understand the correlation of Forvis Mazars Global strategy, and Japan market to plan and execute a strong strategy for Forvis Mazars in Japan.
You will be open to learn develop new technologies in the team to increase reliability and productivity of the team.
You are able to build a strong network internally and externally to lead and recruit talents.
3. Managing a portfolio of engagements
You will be assigned a portfolio of tax advisory engagements and lead the project to completion. The assignment will be determined based on discussions with the present Head of Tax and shall not be limited to a specific type of engagements but covers all ranges of type of tax engagements Forvis Mazars Japan deal with including M&A and Transfer Pricing. In accomplishing engagements, you will be expected to:
・deliver high-quality of service and acquire higher client’s satisfaction,
・lead a team with appropriate supervision and advice and
・manage engagement to achieve profitable result.
You will also supervise tax compliance business from high level, but in depth when it is necessary, with:
・giving appropriate advice to manager and staff,
・reviewing tax returns and other products when it is necessary or recommended and
・assisting manager and staff to communicate with clients.
Through management of engagements, you will be expected to raise quality of our services, improve profitability and foster relationship with clients. High level of client management skill, including language, is required in addition to tax technical expertise. You are expected to show high level of performance in dealing with local and foreign clients through email, telephone conference and on-sight meeting.
4. Developing business
You have the qualities of a business developer. Examples of your background would be:
・an individual who is a Director at BIG4
・with own personal brand and reputation in the market
・who has worked in Big4 for 10-15 years
・able to generate own work in outbound market
You will be responsible for developing business through:
・publishing newsletter, writing articles for magazines, and holding seminar for existing and potential clients
・synergies and joint approaches with the other business lines
・any channel you can utilize such as relationships you have been maintaining.
5. Commitment to training and quality control
You will be responsible for quality and risk control of tax business of Forvis Mazars Japan by such a way as:
・giving appropriate advice to managers and staffs in the firm with regard to their engagements with clients from technical and business perspective,
・reviewing tax works engaged by managers and staffs in the firm and
・delivering training sessions in the firm to level-up and brush up tax knowledge of managers and staffs with average level of tax skills.
