Description:

DuPont Electronics & Industrial business has an exciting and challenging open position as a Technical Service and Development (TS&D) Engineer for Kalrez® specialty parts. From chip manufacturing, chemical processing to oil and gas/renewable energy applications, DuPont Kalrez® is the world leading specialty sealing parts engineered with cutting-edge DuPont proprietary perfluoroelastomer technologies to provide the most reliable and effective sealing solutions for those extremely challenging and mission-critical applications in the globe.

We are currently seeking a talented technical service & development professional as the core team member for Kalrez® Japan business to serve multiple key customers covering both semiconductor and industrial markets and explore and drive key development projects with local commercial team members to accelerate the growth of business. The incumbent will work closely with customers to identify and win opportunities, and take ownership to develop effective solutions, develop and qualify new products based on specific application requirements, coordinate new product commercialization, serve as a mechanism to feedback regional needs to marketing and R&D to well position Kalrez® as the most preferred sealing solution in the market and drive sustainable business growth for the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical service and development support for customers to drive business growth, including technical training, troubleshooting, problem solving and new product/formulation/application development and associated testing to enable qualification.

  • Identify and pursue development opportunities through actively collecting technical information and sealing locations on the equipment to identify the unmet needs of specific applications for solution offerings to customers. Fully own the development project from conception to implementation and commercialization by working closely with the sales team.

  • Develop and own the relationship with the key engineers/end-users in strategic accounts to establish Kalrez® position as the most preferred and most advanced sealing solution and technologies.

  • In global technology network, drive or support the launch of new material/application technology, aligned with global projects.

  • Collect and evaluate competitive products to benchmark with Kalrez® position, and feedback to sales team to establish Kalrez® value propositions and effective competitive strategies over competitors.

  • Perform testing evaluation in laboratory environment and generate technical data according to the customer/market needs.

  • Conduct technical presentations/seminars at customer/partner meetings, technical conferences and distributor trainings to promote Kalrez® application as needed.

  • Learn and acquire deep knowledge and trend of the advanced technology in the industries.

  • Participate various institute and industry association conference to connect with technical resource.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry, Material Science, Applied Physics or related science background is required. Advanced degree is a plus.

  • A minimum of 8-year work experience as a technical engineer is required. The candidate must have experience working with external partners. Experience in semiconductor and related industries is a plus.

  • Ability to understand and define customer needs, and to drive new product/application development to meet customer needs.

  • Exhibit broad technical interests for diversified market and applications including semiconductor and industrials.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to team members and management on all aspects of program activity. English communication skill is required.

  • Ability to travel in Japan (at least 20%)

  • Compliant with safety guidelines, business ethics and internal control processes
